Home of the fun resume

Seriously.

Well, not that seriously, but if you want a professional and creative resume, it's my pleasure to see that you get it -- and have fun at the same time.

So, what's different about a resume I write?

Results!

No strings. No pre-qualifying. No leaving your Beamer here as collateral (although if you want to, I'd consider making room in my garage.)

If you haven't been getting as many interviews as you'd like, the problem could be your resume. What I do is concentrate on the parts of your professional experience that shine. That's what's going to make a prospective employer call you.

The process
I spend time talking with you in person over coffee -- or on the phone (my dime) if it's not convenient for you to meet. I find out what you do best, what you love, what you've been recognized for and how to show your next boss how great a move it would be to hire you! You'll be irresistible!

Sometimes, getting there means changing to a different type of resume. Sometimes, it means rearranging the elements on the one you have. Or maybe we do something completely different. Really, it depends on what you need.

There's a formula (or several, actually) to a resume, but that doesn't mean we have to be bound by it. If a unique approach fits you and your situation, then that's what we're going to do.

Your job search
The same concept applies to your job search. There are some basic dos and don'ts I can help with, but beyond that is the realm of research, and beyond that, the imagination. There are ingenious yet professional ways to get noticed. We just have to think them up.

This can be fun!

When you're ready to move on, sometimes it helps just to have someone to bounce ideas around with. Most of us have a tough time taking enough steps back from our experience and skills to express them objectively. We worry about overstating. Or understating. Selling too much. Not selling enough. Worrying if what you mean is what you're really saying.

Sometimes, the thought of writing your own resume is enough to talk yourself into keeping your old job. Or maybe you don't have time to do the proper research and planning -- or you just plain hate it. Lots of people do.

Except me. I love writing resumes. So, you don't have to. Because this whole job-hunting experience doesn't have to be stressful. Make it fun instead! Getting a new job can be one of the most exciting times of your life. Remember to enjoy it!
